Emilie Calvello-Hynes

Emilie, MD, MPH, currently serves as a technical officer of Emergency and Critical Care for the World Health Organization. She trained in clinical medicine and public health at academic medical centers in the USA and then cross-trained in disaster relief and austere trauma and emergency care. She spent her early career in humanitarian crisis response in multiple countries with various international NGOs and then pivoted her career to strengthen health systems to deliver emergency care in low- and middle-income countries. She is a full Professor of Emergency Medicine and has served as a consultant to the World Bank, WHO Headquarters, US State Department, and WHO Afghanistan for trauma and emergency care.
