1) When does the congress take place?
The congress took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Registrations are now closed. All sessions were recorded and will be made available to watch on-demand on our YouTube Channel, on Apple Podcasts, and on this website.

2) Where does the congress take place?
The congress took entirely virtually, you were able to join from wherever you had an internet connection. All moderators and speakers presented remotely as well.

3) How do I participate?
The congress has concluded, and registrations are now closed. All sessions were recorded and will be made available to watch on-demand on our YouTube Channel, on Apple Podcasts, and on this website.

4) What does ‘Berlin Time’ mean? How do I figure out my time zone?
’Berlin Time’ means the time in Berlin, Germany. You can see when the sessions start in your time zone by downloading the program and clicking on the little black box next to each session, or by going here.

5) Will the talks be available after the congress?
Yes, all talks were recorded and will be made available to view on-demand, on this website, on YouTube with video, and as an audio-only podcast on Apple Podcasts. You can already subscribe on either channel to be notified once the talks are available.

6) Will there be a certificate of participation?
Yes, we will be issuing a certificate of participation after the congress. It will be available on May 7 with the release of the opening session. The certificate is for attendance purposes only. Learn more here.

7) Will there be CME credits?
Yes, our accreditation body is currently reviewing all sessions. We expect the credits to be available in 4 to 6 weeks. Learn more here.

8) What language will the congress be in? Will there be subtitles?
The congress was broadcasted in English. The recordings on YouTube will have subtitles.

9) Who is behind the congress?
The 2024 WSC Spotlight was organized by the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA) and the Physician-Patient Alliance for Health & Safety (PPAHS). The GSA is a non-profit charity organization with the mission to provide global leadership to reduce the worldwide burden of sepsis. The GSA is the initiator of World Sepsis Day on September 13 and World Sepsis Congress, a series of free online congresses bringing knowledge about sepsis to all parts of the world, among other initiatives. The PPAHS is a 501c3 nonprofit based in the United States.

10) Why is WSC Spotlight free? How is WSC Spotlight funded?
WSC and WSC Spotlight are free because their mission is to bring knowledge about sepsis to all parts of the world, easily accessible and, well, free of charge. WSC Spotlight is funded with the help of our Sponsors, whom we sincerely thank for their support. Please note that sponsors do not influence the program, content, or the choice of speakers in any way.

11) Is this the 5th World Sepsis Congress?
No, this was the ‘WSC Spotlight: Unmet Need in Sepsis Diagnosis and Therapy’. The 5th WSC is planned for April 2025.
