Manu Malbrain
Manu (1965) graduated as a doctor (MD) from the Catholic University of Leuven in 1991. After his primary specialization in internal medicine (1996) he specialized in Intensive Care (1997). He is a former ICU Director and medical director in various hospitals in Belgium. Now he made the transition from hospitals to medical data management as CMO of Medaman, an Ehden-certified SME, combined with a position as professor of Critical Care Research at the First Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy of the Medical University of Lublin in Poland. He is a co-founder and president of the International Fluid Academy. He is also the co-founder, past president, and current treasurer of the Abdominal Compartment Society (WSACS). Over the years, he gave more than 1000 lectures at (inter)national scientific meetings. He is the author and co-author of more than 360 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, comments, editorials, book chapters, and books on abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) and rational fluid use. His cumulative h-index is 61 on Scopus and 83 on Google Scholar (with a total of 32598 citations).
