Marcus Schultz

Marcus is an ICU consultant and one of the Principal Investigators of the AMC, professor of Experimental Intensive Care Medicine at the UvA, and researcher at the Medical University Wien (MUW), Vienna, Austria. Marcus Schultz is the founder of the ‘PROtective VEntilation Network’ (www.provenetwork.org) a worldwide collaboration of intensivists and anaesthesiologists in ventilation research that completed several large randomized clinical trials. He initiates national and international projects aiming at the implementation of intensive care unit strategies in resource–rich and resource–restricted critical care settings in Europe, South-East Asia, Africa, and South America, in collaboration with the Mahidol–Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) in Bangkok and the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the Unversity of Oxford in Oxford.
