Marie Scully
Since 2017, Marie is a Consultant Haematologist at the University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in haemostasis and thrombosis with a particular interest in platelet disorders, particularly thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, and thrombotic microangiopathies. UCLH is a specialist centre for TTP, immune thrombocytopenia, and benign haematology, specifically related to immune-mediated diseases. Marie is a Clinical Lead for the National TTP service, Clinical lead for the UKTTP forum, as well as Clinical lead for haemostasis and Thrombosis at UCLH. Previously, she has been Clinical Lead for Blood Transfusion at UCLH and non-malignant co-lead for north Thames LCRN.
Marie has been PI and CI for several commercial and investigator-led trials, both multicentre national and international. She has been PI for Phase I to III studies, primarily in rare non-malignant thrombotic and bleeding disorders and more common thrombosis conditions.
Marie has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters. The majority are relating to investigator-led work, from basic laboratory to clinical and commercial clinical trial papers. Book chapters cover contributions in general medical or haematology books as well as specialist areas particularly relating to haemostasis or thrombotic microangiopathies.
