Jean-Louis Teboul
Jean-Louis is Professor Emeritus of Therapeutics and Critical Care Medicine, at the University Paris-Saclay in France. His research interests are in the field of heart-lung interactions, cardiovascular performance, tissue oxygenation, hemodynamic monitoring, use of vasoactive drugs, and assessment of volume status in critically ill patients. In the specific field of fluid resuscitation, he proposed tests to assess fluid responsiveness such as Pulse Pressure Variation, Passive Leg Raising, and End-Expiratory Occlusion test. His list of publications includes 350 articles (referenced in Pubmed) and 148 book chapters/didactic articles, almost all of them in the field of hemodynamics. His H index: 92 (Google Scholar), 77 (Web of Science). He gave 1216 invited lectures including 1007 in international conferences. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of Intensive Care (IF: 8.1) and of the Journal of Intensive Medicine (created in 2021). He received the Honorary Fellow Honor Award of the American College of Chest Physicians in 2007. He is currently a visiting Professor at the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China.
